Use: Erectile dysfunction (impotence)
Cialis is a phosphodiesterase type-5 inhibitor. It works by increasing blood into the penis when sexually excited to cause an erection.
Due to it's long duration of action, cialis is sometimes referred to as the "weekender pill".
Dose:
10mg at least 30 mins before sexula activity. Maximum one dose per 24 hours. Daily use is not recommended.
Cialis is effective for 24-36 hours.
Cautions:
- heart disease
- anatomical deformation of the penis
- liver impairment
- kidney impairment
Contra-indications:
- use of nitrates
- hypotension (low blood pressure)
- recent stroke
- unstable angina
- heart attack
- heart failure
- uncontrolled arrythmias
- uncontrolled high blood pressure
Side effects:
The most common side effects include headache, indigestion and facial flushing.
Occasional:
- indigestion/heartburn
- vomiting
- headache
- flushing
- dizziness
- visual disturbance
- nasal congestion
- back pain
- muscle pain
Rarely:
- Prolonged erection
- hypersensitivity reaction
